power steering leak

Have had galaxy 02 1.9 deisel for a month steering felt funny topped up fluid. Went to shops went to get in car and fluid under passenger wheel check steering fluid was empty took wheel off and steering rack gaiter had split and fluid coming out any tell me what the caus is and if I replace gayer will it be ok HELP😞

If fluid leaking out of rack gaitor I wouldn't bother renewing the split gaitor as it will need a replacement rack. The seal on end is leaking filling the gaitor up with other fluid.
