Assuming you dont have any form of MFSW at the moment? I see its a DSG so also assume you intend to get a wheel with the paddle shifters?

You'll need a wheel (obviously) and a new controller as a minimum.

No I don't have a multi function steering wheel at the moment, just the normal 3 spoke wheel.

Why do I need a new controller and which one? Steering wheel controller presumably?

You need a new controller because the one in that autoscan is a midline and therefore supports cruise control only - ie has no support for MFSW.

However the autoscan you have provided isn't from a Touran, its from a Golf

Ohh sorry yes thats my wifes golf that i scanned the same day 
The touran has the same controller number so i can assume that is also a midline? Do I need a special controller for the DSG side of things or do they all do the paddle shift? I bought a steering wheel off ebay from a passat cc so am ready to go once i get the module yeah?

You have to match the controller as some don't work with the auto side of things. Take a read here:

You'll probably also need a wiring loom for inside the wheel, 1K0971584L to work with your airbag unless your new wheel is coming with airbag.

Thanks to mirez for the help so far. I've also found out a number of other things from various internet posts which may benefit others.

The airbags are different between MFSW's and normal wheels.
With later tourans the steeing angle sensor moved to the power steering rack
You have to change the wiper stalk else you get error codes

Hopefully I can fit this lot between christmas and new year!!

Hi all. I have a fairly common problem with cars, but for me it is a serious problem because my radio asks me for a code, after I changed the car's battery, and I don't have that code. I understood that that code should be in the car book, but I don't have it and I have no where to get that code. This problem is quite crazy because I can no longer listen to music in the car.
