After just a couple of days of having an x type I have already discovered the ford 2.0tdci lump is worse on fuel than my 115 galaxy tdi, managed 37mpg on a run.
The wheel nuts are made of toffee and break/damage very easily... now changed for 21mm head Toyota ones.
If rear geometry is out they destroy tyres 6mm tread but inner 1.5 inch down to cords. Full alignment found far too neg on camber, thankfully they can be adjusted easy enough as control arm uses a concentric bolt design. All within spec now and new rubber so hopefully that's sorted.
Apart from that it's a fairly nice drive for a tarted up mondeo, and for money I paid can't really complain.

Lets see some photos of the beasty then! :)
03 Ford Galaxy 1.9 TDI 115 Ghia in Spruce Green Metallic
With cream leather interior, Full Bodykit, Remapped at 145bhp, Lowered on 18's
17 Volkswagen Touareg 3.0 V6 Diesel in Slate Blue
262Bhp AWD and Factory fresh...for now!
58 Ford Transit 2.2 TDI 115 in Frozen White
With retrofitted everything except another slidey door! :)
LAUNCH X431 Pad PRO - Scanning & Coding for all makes and models done in Wiltshire in exchange for winegums! :)

Here you go not got any myself these were screen shot from advert.
Needs a good valet which I will let the polish lads down Trowbridge road sort out for me.

If it's the same system as the MkIV Mondeo (I suspect not) there is a known issue with early, rear, main suspension arm bushes.

You should also be getting closer to 50mpg.  I get more than 40mpg around the houses and the Mondeo is much bigger than the Jag.

I got about 45 miles a gallon in my old Mondeo MK3 130 TDCi.. and more like 41 in my Gal 115 TDi..

It's doing 31 round the town although it has flashed up cylinder head temp sensor fault and does have the usual oil cooler stat issue.
Got new temp sensor,2 new stats and full service kit so will see if it improves after doing all that.

I don't think its same set up as mondeo but going to monitor rear tyre wear and if it's still poor will be looking at bushes/arms

If the EGR valve has been blocked, that would cause warmup time to increase substantially.

That's one of the things I am gonna be looking at when I service etc and see if it needs a clean out. Although warm up time of heaters is good it just gets up to temp and drops down under quarter very quickly.

The heater may be an electrical supplemental heater, as fitted to later Mondeos.  Mine is spouting hot air from the vents within a half-mile of moving off but the temp gauge doesn't get to working temp until about seven or eight miles.

Oh right ok didn't realise they had them fitted (as only a mondeo sure it's the same)
Will be sorting egr, thermostats and engine temp sensor today so see if things are better after.

One thing I noticed yesterday while swearing at the rear brakes, the pistons don't wind back in like normal. Using my push back tool they were stiff as so I thought were seized.... turns out they have left hand thread so you need a different tool as mine only does right hand thread. I have done loads of rear brakes on all different cars and never known that before!

Yes, I was aware that some more recent stuff has rear caliper pistons that have to be wound back in anticlockwise but I've never encountered/ worked on a vehicle which utilises that system. Makes you wonder if there was any good basis in engineering for designing it to work that way when standard right hand thread was the norm, or whether they did it to deter/ confuse/ prevent people not in the know from working on it!
Always learning..... Often by mistakes!

Call me cynical but after working in the trade and seeing some of the stuff they do I always think it is done to deter the average Sunday afternoon DIY mechanic from attempting it.

I changed both the thermostats today and temp gauge is all normal now, main stat was stuck open due to broken plastic tag in the housing. Oil cooler stat is supposed to be a common problem so renewed while coolant was dropped no idea if that was ok or not as looked same as new one.

The cylinder head temp sensor is a pain as it lives behind the water pump drive pulley on camshaft, had to get the grinder on a deep 15mm socket to cut a slot for the wiring. Not a chance of getting it out any other way.

Just need to change engine and gearbox oil then refit interior and it's all good to go.

I seem to recall Ford had a special socket for removing those CHT sensors..... it was a while ago though!

That makes sense as it's recessed in.
