Forgive me if this topic has already been posted, I am new here and searched the posts. Vehicle is a 2011 Zetec

I have a dog and want to leave the tailgate up and disable the alarm completely but still be able to lock the doors with him inside.

I can disable the internal sensors on the alarm, but don't know if leaving the tailgate up will set the alarm off.

Any ideas please and thank you.

If you lock the car with the keyfob, then open the boot only with the keyfob, the alarm is deactivated until the boot lid is closed again.

I don't understand why you would want to lock the doors with the boot open though.
What's to stop somebody climbing in the boot and opening the doors from the inside?
