Removal of fuses

How do I gain access to fuses in the central fuse box?  I have opened cover of the box but have found that the actual fuses are protected by a transparent plastic strip.  How do I remove the strip so that I can change a fuse?

Hello and  to the forum
The cover can be fiddly to remove, it has a lug at both ends that need prising out with a long thin flat blade screwdriver, this is best done from under the facia by the pedals, prise one end and pull the cover slightly then repeat at other end and remove.
You can safely leave cover off if you wish for easier access.

but i would add,
obtain hammer and chisel and chisel the b****y thing off.   or go the whole hog and get a kango.
i had no end of trouble removing mine.

I asked the same guestion
when i started on forum.
Found that if I removed the dropdown flap
by pulling upwards
then could put fingers at each end and pull off
plastic. Replaced it but agree that it can be left off

Hello 
What fuse are you looking for? as there are only a few maxi fuses in the lower level, it's mainly just relays in level 2 & 3
