Seat Alhambra gearbox squeel noise when cold

Hi all, still havnt gotten aound to oiling the stiff gearshift but I now have another problem with the gearbox clutch on the Alhambra. When the car is cold and for the first maybe one or two miles, when i blend the clutch there is a high pitch and quite loud squeeling noise. If I ease the clutch it or out then it stops and it only happens during gearchanges and mainly when pulling away or shifting into 2nd gear. Once there is a little temperature in the car then it behaves normally.

My Alhambra is on 124K miles and hasnt had a clutch but I dont think its slipping. is this the dreaded dmf or something worse/better?

I would say the release bearing is causing that rather than DMF. Usually DMF causes vibrations and more of a rattle rather than a squeal noise.
However to do release bearing it is gearbox out job and at 124k it would be crazy not to change the clutch as a 3 piece kit as well as the DMF. Would also make lubricating the selector easier when the box is on the deck

It may also be the friction plate losing its friction material.  My wife's Focus has been doing it for nearly a year now.  We're going to fix it when it breaks.

I can't see it will do any damage to anything other than the parts that would be changed anyway should it totally give up.
I would just run it until it got worse personally
