:'( Right the dreaded galaxy is now in workshop spread all over the floor in a last attempt to fix the remaining faults which are

1; knocking noise from n/s/f suspension so far I have changed all the components twice!! first for cheap euro carparts ones and now for genuine ford items parts fitted as follows
drop link arm
top suspension mount
spring
shock
antiroll bar bushes
bottom ball joint
track rod end
drive shaft
and still the damn thing rattles and clanks at every pothole

2; engine cuts out for split second under acceleration happens every time I accelerate but is only a very very brief cut out its like you just turned the ignition off and on again rapidly wondering if its the  air mass meter

any ideas folks because if I cant cure the probs then it will emerge from workshop with a FOR SALE sign in window!!!!!

Someone on the other forum once traced an mystery rattle to a spare buld in glovebox😀
As for cutting out crank/camshaft sensor maybe?

Only thing left to cause clunk that side of car is lower wishbone bushes or gearbox mounting really.

Does the engine actually stop and then start again (bump start as in gear) or does it just hit the wall power wise? Have you had vcds plugged in? Can't see MAF causing to cut out if that's what's happening.

Lower wishbone has been changed once but was a cheapo so may try new one although cant see anything wrong with one that's on car
engine cuts outs for a split second well before revs hit say 2/3000 as I said its a cut out just like you turned ignition off

diagnostic software(ford) shows no faults at all every reading is within tolerance

o and I checked glovebox its empty :)

maybe im looking in wrong place for fault going to check exhaust mountings  tomorrow it rattles just going down my drop kerb so I would have thought it should be an obvious fault

pissed off pass me a beer

Like you say if knocking/rattling just going off drive it should be able to find something amiss I would think?

Check relay 30 for the cutting out they can have the common issue of failing due to soldered joints causing engine to cut out. But of a pig to get at though I think as its high up in relay box.

Oh yeah have a few beers for me got 12 hour night shift to do,on a Friday as well!!!

Have you checked crossmember mounting bolts for tightness?
Replace relay 30 first as suggested as this causes most non starting and cutting out problems

right so the cutting out problem was the coil pack but changed the plugs and leads at same time so engine all sorted have looked at knocking noise till am blue in face cannot figure it out subframe is tight exhaust not loose beginning to wonder if there is an internal problem with new shocker!! even took it to my mot tester he did all the usual mot tests and it passed them all so looks like the FOR SALE sign may be only option
