Never thought I would say that lmao!!

Hi boys!! Over the last few weeks by gearknobs been getting harder to go into reverse and other gears feel sticky from how they did. same running or not any help??
No I do not have kids. I need a people carrier for all my shoes! :)

I believe the housing on top of gearbox where linkage is can seize over time, have a look in ref library I am sure there is some info about it

Other than that could be early signs of issues with dual mass flywheel / clutch. If you try to select gears with the engine off is it any better?
Always learning..... Often by mistakes!

Sorey for the delay! No its the same with the engine on or off.

I looked but didnt see anything about the linkage. I got the faithfull wd40 out and sprayed it on the springy things on top of the box? is that it or somewhere else as it didnt look substatial!!

It's the linkage pivot that corrodes causing stiff selection.
See picture it's item in red

Thanks honey!
Is it easy to take apart or can I just spray it as-is?

No problem.

One of the things I have not actually done to mine but I would imagine it's fairly straightforward once battery and tray out of the way.

To do a permanent repair it would require taking apart to clean and grease, don't reckon wd40 is up to the job as a long term solution.

It's the shaft into the gear box. Had same problem on M11, ended up with only 3 & 4th gears. Lots of penetrating fluid and grease worked into it sorted it.

Thanks @ianrskinnert , is that the shaft that @johnnyroper has shown above or another one? TIA

Hi, sorry about delay, can't tell from picture. Battery and carrier have to come out and it's the shaft that the gear change cables move going into the gear box. Is

Yes it is the shaft coloured red in the picture that seizes on them.
