hi does anyone know if the 130 bhp sharan mk 2  has a relay for the cooling fan ??? if so where is it located my fan is stuck on
thank you in advance

I think it's only 115 that has the cooling fan relay.

The 130 and 150 fan is controlled by engine ecu.

Is it stuck on even if engine is off or just while running?

just while running even when cold

You got the air con on?
If not I would suggest a vcds scan initially to check for fault codes and measure blocks to see what coolant temp sensor is reading.

ok cheers will try and get it plugged in

It's not the same fault but have you seen this thread? There's a link to a bit of blurb about fan faults and a wiring diagram......
Always learning..... Often by mistakes!

ok seem to be getting a bit further had it  plugged in and 2 codes coming up
17968 coolant sensor at rad signal to small          could this be broken wire ??

19463 cam position sensor no signal

also fault code on temp sensor dosent change if u unplug or bridge wiring

That sounds like a wiring fault to me best check continuity from that back to control unit I reckon.

Have you cleared them see if they come back?

temp sensor wont clear
cam sensor comes back after a struggled start

changed cam sensor and starting problem is sorted
but the fan problem still persists have pulled every fuse and relay one by one
but nothing turns it off  i have even rewired the temp sensor up to the ecu still nothing
but while doing continuity test on temp sensor wires both tested ok but i noticed the green wire was earth
the two wires were  1 green and 1 black i would have thought the black one would have been the earth

I think you need to get a wiring diagram for the temp switch circuit to identify which colours do what and then go from there.

There should be a relay under the battery fuse box, also

Pic below of fuse box, the red wire next to the black wire is for fan control, the fuse is removed by removing the two nuts.

With VCDS lite (full version) need a code clearing or want to scan for faults in the north kent area, PM me. All for a pint of Strongbow.

I thought it was only 115 that had relay and 130/150 were controlled purely by ecu?

Yes I think your right the relay under the fuse box is for the two fan 115 version.
the fuse on the red wire should stop the fan until fault found
