New to the site and looking for info about my wipers not working properly

Hi All

I am trying to get some info to try and fix my wipers. I have a MK2 51 plate Galaxy and the only way I can use my wipers is by pulling the wiper stalk back slightly. The wiper stalk has to be on and in an up position for the wipers to work when I pull the stalk back. Is this an ECU problem? I really need to get this fixed because I want to sell the car soon for a van.

I would say you have a faulty stalk, giving it a spray with contact spray may help or just get another stalk.

Thanks for the reply, but I don't think it is the stalk because I have already change that. That is why I am thinking it is something else like the ECU.

Check fuse 33 I know it's not listed for wipers but does affect there operation.
Assuming you have checked these 11. 20. 24 dependent on model
