anyone else lost vcds
after loading win 10

have you checked you port settings may have changed so pc is not seeing cable

Hi Tony,

It may also be worth check device manager and add/remove programs to ensure VCDS is installed and the cable is detected.

If your still having issues, can you answer the below?

Can you expand on 'anyone else lost vcds'

When you say 'loading Windows 10', is this a fresh install or via a upgrade Microsoft are doing currently?

I have found that the .exe installer typically isn't compatible with Windows 10 and you need to run it in compatibility mode (Windows 7) as with the drivers on some leads .

I have let win 10 just run updates since november show

programs show vcds lite 1.2 and 1.1 and offers to remove
program  w10 shows 404 fault
when I press test on screenshot I get no port connections

I have not used programme forages
red light comes up on blue connecting cable
but no way will it open up

should i maybe try and download again
as I have lost original 3rd party disc
have not tried compatibility yet
am not a computer genius

When i installed VCDS lite i had to run the program in compatibility mode otherwise it wouldnt communicate within the cable.

Are you sure the cable has the relevant Windows 10 drivers installed? Windows 7 drivers rarely work in Windows 10.

To uninstall VCDSLite i would use the uninstall.exe located within the Ross-Tech folder, this should overcome this error. One a side not if you have the paid version on VCDSLite can you re-install though? I think it is a one time key.

If you have the drivers to the cable, you may wish to physically uninstall the drivers and start again to ensure Win 10 registers the drivers correctly.

It sound silly, but you did back up Windows 7 before upgrading to Windows 10?
