The rear tyres on my 2013 Galaxy diesel will need changing soon as they have around 1mm left to tread wear indicator.

The car currently has Michelin Primacy HP fitted on the rears and assuming they are original they have done around 30k miles which I think is pretty good for such a heavy car. I had intended to fit the same again but I've been told by a couple of tyre places that the Primacy HP has been replaced by the Primacy 3.
Having looked at quite a lot of tyre reviews it doesn't sound like the Primacy 3 wear as good so I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations and what mileage I could expect from them?

Thanks

I've had ~40K on them on a Mondeo estate.  Currently trying the Crossclimates - not sure I would recommend them.

Sorry for hijacking this post but do the tyres need to be load rated like a van

People carriers/ MPV's will always need higher load rated tyres than standard cars due to the fact that they're intended to carry more passengers and/ or load. You could physically fit lower load rated tyres of the same size (assuming they were available) to the wheels but if you had an accident it might invalidate your insurance.
Always learning..... Often by mistakes!

I'm in the same situation, I'm looking around to replace the fronts which have served me well and covered 37k miles from new, I've heard the same about michelin hp's being replaced with premacy 3's.
but talking with a few people and looking through a number of reviews it looks like I'll be fitting some pirellis p7's

A while ago I was looking at the Pirelli Cinturato All Season tyres because they do a Self Seal version and I'm worried about getting punctures what with the car having no spare wheel or jack. I don't like the idea of relying on the repair foam that comes with the car.
Unfortunately although Pirelli do the Cinturato in 225/50ZR17 98W they don't offer Self Seal in this size.
I've spoken to several tyre companies and it sounds like Continental & Michelin may offer self seal technology also but none seem to rate it anyway. If they seal a puncture themselves they're great but if they don't you can't get them repaired in the same way you can with a normal tyre.

At the moment I'm considering either the Michelins Primacy 3 or Goodyear Efficient Grip although have seen mixed reviews for the Goodyears.

Hi, Worth checking out Uniroyal Rainsport 3! great reviews, Cheapest from Camskill, cheers Dave

Ive got rainsports on the focus cracking tyre for the money.
I paid Ã,£307 inc p&p for 4..... 235x45x18s.
I had the older rain sports on my clio sport and id say they were as good as the continental contisports and lasted a little longer aswell
