Hi all again,
Took the car out for a good flush out o n motorway.
Car was fine on acceleration and got to 70 no probs once I tried to go faster the car would not go over 80mph.I noticed the revs would not go over3500.
Checked on line and read about maf sensor .So unplugged it today and drove car it made no difference at all.
Is it worth changing this over .
As I said car fine getting to 70  and still getting 35 -40 mpg.

Just noticed there is a map sensor and maf sensor ive taken the one off the air filter.

could still be a boost issue can you scan for codes?

With VCDS lite (full version) need a code clearing or want to scan for faults in the north kent area, PM me. All for a pint of Strongbow.

no I will get it into garage this week, seems to spend more time there lately.

If you've got a laptop you can get an interface lead off ebay for less than a tenner then scan it yourself.

I think more likely something else not right as vag td's run ok with maf unplugged, the ecu works to a base figure mine revved past 3.5k when I had my maf unplugged for testing.
I would be suspecting map sensor or vnt issue personally.
But as above really need it plugging in to see if any faults and to check measuring blocks.

I bought a MAF from GSF for Ã,£32 - it worked a treat - a very cheap option in my opinion.

Thanks all for replys, car in Garage on Sat ,so I take a look at codes.I did spray the connectors with electrical contact spray and it did seem to make difference.
