Anyone know the very best stuff for keeping all the exterior grey plastic lookoing nice  instead of the weathered matt grey it seems to go,  living at the coast the salty air doesnt help but it seems to be degrading very rapidly, tried some autoglymm bumper gel but think it had gone "off" over winter as it was really thick and sticky and ended up with a slimy coating all over

Have you tried the trusty old 'back to black'? Autoglym's vinyl and rubber care (comes in a manual pump spray bottle) is pretty good too, just try not to get it on painted surfaces or glass- it won't do any harm but will smear and takes a little effort to remove.
Always learning..... Often by mistakes!

I just use armroll seem good enough

I stopped using the back to black etc as it didn't last too long before trims went back all Matt looking.
Years ago when in motor trade one of the body shop lads suggested engine oil is good,I was sceptical but gave it a go anyway.

I gave the trim a good clean to remove any dirt and grime then used a rag with some used engine oil on it,they come up a treat and the look lasted a lot longer than back to black,wd40 is also good.
Nothing is permanent after the trim has gone that way so will need doing again at some point

Are you talking about the trims within the bumper? Paint them body colour if so!
