Hello everyone
I have read the post by Mirez on changing the right hand stub axle and inner half shaft on the MkII galaxy.  Brilliant post and I am now ready to tackle the job. I am just checking to see if there is any updates on the post.   Are the parts still Ford only? How reliable is the Polish modified version? Any tips/ information would be appreciated.

i bought mine from j&r driveshafts in Birmingham; they did send wrong one at first, but they collected that part and dropped correct parts off at their expense.  it came with all bolts, spring & clips and the bronze tapered washer that's needed to fit new parts. all I done was buy a new driveshaft seal from Ford @Ã,£8.00.  the shaft comes with a big, flat metal bracket attached that simply bolts onto a mounting bracket on the block.   they have a website that you enter reg number and it shows parts/prices as well.

Thanks for the reply. I checked out J & R on their website and it almost seems too good to be true.  The price of the stub axle and half shaft from Ford is Ã,£440.87 plus vat, from CES its Ã,£250.78 not sure about the vat on that one, but from J & R its Ã,£52.97 again not sure about the vat. Is that about what you paid and how is the quality of the parts have you had any further problems? I'm just asking because its rare that I get that lucky!

I tried 2nd hand, then peoples ford, ces said they could NOT locate a shaft , all the main motor factors I'm Liverpool all said go back to peoples....  I rang j&r after looking at loads of different forums reviews of them, some bad but mostly good.  the price was very cheap so I just thought I would try them, its been on a few months and I will be re-checking the 6 x driveshaft bolts before we drive down south on our hols.
order a driveshaft seal from ford just in case ( I changed mine anyway)
