Hello everyone! I'm sorry if it's been asked/explained before but I can't find it through the search option on here! I've bought 2 front V6 calipers, and would like to know if I have to swap the carriers/brackets as well or not? Mine's a 1.9 tdi. Thanx for any replies!

No idea, but remember this falls under the insurance question "Has your vehicle been modified in any way?"   you MUST inform your insurers.

Yes, the carriers are different so will need swapping.

Personally I wouldn't be in a rush to tell them and I do normally abide by the rules. However IF it's a GENUINE part as fitted to another model then what's to say it didn't come from the factory like that? Why pay a premium for upgrading the braking system? I consider a modification to be something that either wasn't an option, wasn't available at the time or is not a genuine part ie aftermarket wheels. In the same vane, if you swapped non tinted glass out for the genuine tinted glass I wouldn't tell them but if I had it tinted by a company then I would because its non genuine.

Lol Mark! True what you said regarding the insurance! Although I was kinda hoping I wouldn't have to get the carriers as well, partly cos they cost more than the calipers themselves!!! Considering the calipers are not new, do you guys think I should have them reconditioned? Also, I want to lower the Gal! Should I get the Eibach kit or Kilen? Kilen are around 50% cheaper! Thanx again for any replies!

Do I need to change the brake hoses as well when I fit the V6 calipers?
Are they different in length/diameter from the ones in the car now? Also, I'm thinking of getting the rears upgraded to the V6 ones as well. Will I have to change the hoses at the back? Cheers.
