have this player fitted in the galaxy i just brought it does state mp3 and changer compatible have the multi changer but cant get it to play mp3 disk just shows 1 track only and although the count changes it is just silent

Have you put the disc in the head unit rather than the changer unit.

As above. The MP3 unit wasn't available on a 2002 year so that would have been retrofitted. Unless they did the changer at the same time it won't be able to read from the factory cd changer.
03 Ford Galaxy 1.9 TDI 115 Ghia in Spruce Green Metallic

17 Volkswagen Touareg 3.0 V6 Diesel in Slate Blue
262Bhp AWD and Factory fresh...for now!
58 Ford Transit 2.2 TDI 115 in Frozen White
With retrofitted everything except another slidey door! :)
LAUNCH X431 Pad PRO - Scanning & Coding for all makes and models done in Wiltshire in exchange for winegums! :)

it plays cdr disks burned as audio both from the player and the changer

just had a ferrit around on the net and it seems when fitted to later mondeos and transits it has a lead into the glove box for mp3 players hence the mp3 on the front so will have to stick to standard cds
