After I stop driving my Mk 2 2004 Galaxy Ghia I hear the noise of a small (fan ?) coming from behind or around the battery, anyone know what this might be? it stays on for about a minute or two after which it stops.
as ever thanks in anticipation

This is perfectly normal. It is the auxiliary water pump that circulates water around the system to avoid hotspots forming once you turn off the engine. It is mounted on the bulkhead at the back of the engine bay above and to the right of the egr.

from what i read its advisable to change the motor bushes after around 80,000 or it may stop working and possible problems with aux heater.
you can do that if handy or swop the pump altogether    they are around Ã,£80 ish new
