Please be gentle im new to the forum and new galaxy owner!
Have recently purchased 2006 mk3 galaxy. Have been getting engine malfunction light and loss of power. Called out rac who read error code and diagnosed P2123: Throttle pedal position sensor switch D
P2138: Throttle pedal position sensor switch D/E
P060D: internal control module accelorator pedal performance
P2121: Throttle pedal position sensor switch D
cleaned connections to throttle pedal and road tested = ok
If fault reoccurs will require new throttle pedal.

So fault reoccurred and i cant find anywhere to purchase a new throttle pedal from!!! There are second hands on ebay but having read some other threads on forum suggestion is to go with new as fault might be present in old. Ive trawled the internet and nothing.
Advice please....has the rac guy given me the right advice and where can i purchase pedal new?
I have found the excellent piece on here describing how to clean arms but my pedal must be a more modern version as when ive removed it to take a look theyve done that modern thing if making it all impossible to fix so you have to buy new and guve them more money!
Thank u in advance!

A Ford dealer is the obvious place to buy a replacement part, unfortunately you're unlikely to get an aftermarket throttle pedal. I'd be wary about buying a secondhand part- if yours is defective then it's likely due to wear, and how do you know if a secondhand part is any better than what you're trying to replace (especially as it's a moving part)? What engine is fitted to your TDCI? A 1.6, 1.8 or 2 litre?

Thatd what i throught re second hand. Its the 1.8 diesel. Sorry im going to soind like a complete dunce now....do i just contact my most local ford dealer and ask them to order the part for me??
As you might guess im fairly novice at this and certainly dont attempt big jobs on my car!

If you ring a Ford dealer and ask for the parts department, then ask for a price and availability on an electric throttle pedal assembly for your vehicle they'll only be too happy to quote, though they will ask for at least the vehicle registration number and possibly the VIN (17 digit number usually beginning with WF0 visible in a small window at the base of the front windscreen, on the passenger side normally) to ensure the right part is quoted. Such an item from past experience is likely to cost at least Ã,£150 though I'm afraid.

Not sure if you can but may be worth trying to clean inside like you can on the MK2

With VCDS lite (full version) need a code clearing or want to scan for faults in the north kent area, PM me. All for a pint of Strongbow.

Thank you both. Will give dealer a call for quote. May be tempted to try a scrap yard first depending on ford quote seen a few on ebay for around 20quid. Probably a risk but fridge and dryer have also both decided to pop this week....happy new year me!!
I removed the pedal to try and clean but theyve encased the newer ones with plastic clips that i could possibly force open (and may do once ive got a second working pedal!) but i think they would snap and don't want to take the risk at the mo.
Thanks again really appreciated!!

If it's anything like the ones they fit in the tranny connect they are a weak part, my old 58 plate had 3 in the 3 years 130k miles I had it.
2 failed electrically with management light the third broke as its plastic and no physical stop to prevent it from breaking.
It was however a stocked item at Bristol and Trowbridge ford dealer confirming its a weak point.
My 14 plate connect also seems to have similar fitted suggesting it is common across the range.
Personally I would not bother second hand with that as if memory serves correctly it was no more than Ã,£100.

Unlike the mk2 throttle pedals, im pretty sure the mk3s are contactless pedals so there is no 'contact surface'  to clean inside one (from personal experience of my 2008 mk3 galaxy).
