07 TDI Zetec Relay 2 clicking

Hi folks
Relay 2 in the engine bay fusebox is constantly clicking on and off with ignition off, key out. Anyone know what it does and what might be causing it to misbehave?

Unfortunately I'm not sure if wiring diagrams for the Mk3 Galaxy are widely available as yet, does the owners handbook give any suggestion as to what the relay is for? Posting a picture of the relay & it's location may help identify it. Has it only recently started behaving like this?

Thanks for your reply. The battery is flat this morning  Currently charging.
Yesterday pulling fuse F10 would stop the relay clicking - the handbook says it's for the engine control module. It starts again some time after the fuse is put back. There is no mention of Relay 2 in the book.
I did some work on the screen washers which are not spraying well and did have a little excess water around but nothing that should have been a concern.
I'm wondering if it's related to this http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?/topic/19566-wipers-wont-turn-off/ as I have had the wipers turning on and off randomly - but I haven't been able to locate the alarm module to see.

iirc the alarm module is under the passenger wheel arch area?

The relay may have been a power hold relay for the engine management and if it was staying energised when it shouldn't have been (which it was if you could hear it constantly clicking) then it could well have lead to the battery going flat. If you can find another relay of the same type in the fusebox then my first step would be to substitute it and see if the clicking stops, chances are it's just a dodgy relay although other wiring faults can't be ruled out.
