I recently bought a Galaxy 2003, 2.3l. It has a strange "feature" on the cruise control - it only works when the headlights are set on high beam. When I turn on low beam the cruise control cancel...

Anyone know what's wrong? I can imagine that there's something wrong with the high/low beam lever, but any tips are welcome :)

Best regards from Sweden

Possibly broken wires in the lever from al the blinker use. The wires wear over time form all the movement. You can solder new wires into place for the cheapest fix.

This is what happened to me with my MK1.

for the MK2: For removing the lever you first have to remove airbag and steering wheel with a special spline with 12 teeth tool. (size 12 I think). But don't forget to disconnect the battery first (at least half an hour before removing the airbag). Feel free to ask if you don't know how to remove the airbag.
I own a MK1 1999 2.3 DOHC Ghia & 2003 1.9TDI Trend.
