hi there can u help my ford galaxy 52 dti is over heating when go up to 70 and more i have had it in garage and had new cambelt and water pump i have got my run on pump all working lovely i have had head checked 2 times and all ok i have checked all pipes all ok now the garage are saying its the rad blocked i have seen so many on here who have done the rad and sill the same what do i do and the thermostat bin done too y are all the galaxys doing this thanks for any help

The more an engine overheats the more rusty sediment will be passed around the system so yes it's likely the radiator could be blocked but it's more likely to have head or gasket problems.
The fact you have had problems with the run on pump not working by itself would not cause it to overheat but does have a knock on effect E.G hot spots after switch off which is known to cause premature gasket failure and head distortion as well as poor rear heater circulation and incorrect operation of booster heater.

You say head has been checked and is OK? how have you come to this conclusion.

Try this, with engine cold and coolant on the MAX line and with cap removed start engine and observe coolant bottle can you see coolant returning to the bottle via the small tube at the top of bottle? you should see a small amount returning, any air circulating through the system will also be ejected through this tube into the bottle,

If the level of the coolant starts to rise and spill out then you most likely have HGF.

I think your just putting off the inevitable, get a second opinion go to a garage the specialises in the TDI these are classic symptoms of head gasket/cylinder head failure

hi thanks justing waiting for price now if its cracked i have some one who got a head for Ã,£50 do u think i am beter of to get that or geting my one fixed if can thanks

If the head has penetrating cracks it will need replacing, if the surface is uneven or badly corroded it can be refaced (skimmed) depending on how bad it is.
