Hi Guys

I have recently picked up a standard flange type tow bar which was a doddle to fit. The issue I have is that I am using a high neck towball as I use a mottez 4 bike rack which locates on the towball. This extra height (30mm) over a std ball sets off the parking sensors. Does anyone have any ideas before I admit defeat and go for a detachable version. Thanks in advance.

iirc it may need to be programed so the sensors dont pick it up??

Hi thanks for the reply. I've read about this but assumed the programming was to deactivate the rear sensors when the trailer/van electrics were plugged in. If someone can add some clarity on the programming thing that would be great. Cheers. Rich

I have the same problem, the sensor sometimes picks up the left side next time the right and sometimes never, as I have the sat system then I use the camera. When I am not towing I remove the tow ball or invert it then it is all OK

On the Mk2 the controller is VW and you can adjust the offset value within VCDS, with the Mk3 that settings equivalent is available in Ford's world (well you can on the Mondeo and Focus so I don't see why the Galaxy would be different) It's just not so easy as Ford car's are generally dealer only for software changes.

Thanks guys. I've managed to pick up a witter detachable for a good price so this should sort me out. Only use the bike rack a handful of times a year. Sounds like the software access is a pain. Been a Vx/Saab owner for a few years and got used to Tech2 which a few forum buddies had. Over the years I have enabled all sorts of upgrades from auto lights and wipers to cheeky little remaps.
