Hi, does anyone know how I can get to the part number of the turbo on my 2003 TDI? It needs replacing but there are 2 versions of turbo for this vehicle. I have a mechanic to fit a replacement for me, but he doesn`t have the space in his garage to take the old one off and then have to wait for a new one to arrive. Thanks

If you mean the Ford part numbers I can't imagine Ford keep/stock many variants of turbo for the 1.9 TDI, most likely the part numbers all supersede to 2 or 3 variants, one non-variable version for the lower powered 90hp TDI and maybe a couple variable geometry versions for the others depending on power output, do you know the engine code/ power output of your TDI?

Thanks for your reply. It is the 115 bhp model. The V5 states `variant` AUY 1 and version is 7DQ if that means anything to anybody!!

Is the turbo definitely knackered, i.e, not just sticking vanes which can be cleaned up as per Chris's reference library article here? Or even if the spindle/ cartridge assembly is knackered that can be replaced as well.

Both those procedures were carried out on 115hp TDI's (engine code AUY).

Morning guys, thanks for replies and links. I assume Turbo has blown as it was scraping for a while, going into limp mode up hills and then finally went as it started smoking serverly. ideally i`d just like to find some access on the vehicle to find the part number from the turbo itself. Thanks
