Just behind the "light switch" you can see where it is coming apart I have had a small leak come through when its been very heavily raining. According to previous owner, the sunroof seal was replaced with a brand new one only half a year ago. Any idea what to check?

It's a ford galaxy 2.3 2001

have you checked to see if the drain offs for the sunroof are connected?and are not blocked?
iirc there are 4 of them in each corner, curtain wire is meant to be a good thing to use.
make sure you dont use anything that has a sharp point to it or you may puncture the drain off hose.
