Hello,
Looking on ebay at various bits  :-[ I've seen a few different model references such as 7M8, 7M9 and wondered is there a definitive listing for these anywhere, I'm used to the older VW designations such as T1,T2, T34, T5 etc but I've not come across these before.
Thanks in advance  :)

If I understand it correctly, unlike Ford, who give their parts an engineering number and a separate part number for inventory purposes, VW just use one reference, of which the first string of digits relate to the model- in the case of the Mk2 Galaxy/Alhambra/Sharan, parts made specifically for these vehicles start with a 7M3 reference. Not all of the parts fitted to these vehicles begin with the 7M3 reference, as many parts are generic and used on a number of different vehicles (e.g, engine components, keys, bolts, screws etc) so are referenced differently, but the parts specific to the Mk2 platform begin with 7M3.
Always learning..... Often by mistakes!

Thanks, I'm learning all the time, it's great to have this forum  8-)
