2006 Mk 3 Galaxy with 110,000 miles. Bought in 2007. Well serviced. I have been having ongoing intermittent hesitation, and engine malfunction lights for a few years! Getting increasingly worse with engine now cutting out as well. Ford have replaced intercooler pipe a few months back. Most recent codes indicate P0003 Fuel volume regulator control circuit low. Before getting replaced I have had tank taken off and found some dirt near inlet pipe. However, problem still persists. Ford mechanic says the fuel sender unit in the tank may have gunged up, causing fuel starvation intermittently. Has anyone out there experience of this? Feeling very frustrated.

That does sound like a fuel supply problem (low volume) could well be a dodgy in tank pump.

Being that you've mentioned a boost hose was replaced I'm assuming it's a TDCI that you have? With that kind of fault description it could also be an issue with the fuel rail pressure regulator valve.

Saw this issue some time ago on another vehicle.  Turned out that the small, round, inside cover from the top of a bottle of additive had somehow found its way into the tank and was intermittently stopping fuel flow.  Took months to find.
