Does anyone know the part no for the inner cv joint/tripod for a manual 1.9tdi 06 Galaxy? Would a cv joint from another car/make fit? Cheers.

They are cheap, dont go to used ones...
Go to a eurocarparts... Balljoints are really cheap

I'd be wary of fitting cheap aftermarket CV joints if you want them to last (unless you are planning on getting rid in the near future). Assuming you've got a late model TDI similar to mine the inner CV joint casing has the part no. 7M3 407 332 etched into it (GKN assembly), however, this could be VW's reference for the whole shaft and not just the inner joint, and there are several different configurations of joint depending on model year, power output, engine & transmission type etc. Possibly the Ford part number for a late model TDI inner CV joint assembly is 1308629 (as per item 3 on this parts diagram), but don't take that as gospel. In any case, I don't expect it'll be cheap to buy the part from Ford, to the extent that I'd consider maybe a complete outer GKN Lobro driveshaft from the like of Euro car parts would be a better bet, and not necessarily much more expensive.

The driveshaft components from similar age and specced VW Sharans & SEAT Alhambras are probably very similar if not the same but there are variations in CV joint style, shaft length etc so beware.

I only need the tripod at the end of the os driveshaft! Not the whole cv joint! I got one of the J&R ones off ebay today! I'll try to fit it tomorrow after work if I can and I'll update! Cheers everyone.

Why would you want to replace only one half of an assembly of two mating parts? Both the tripod rollers and channels in the CV joint casing where they run will wear, if your tripod is knackered then there's every chance the casing will be also, that's why the manufacturers don't sell the tripod as a separate item. I don't know if J&R have manufactured their CV joints to the exact same dimensions as the O.E parts, but if they haven't then you may find their tripod won't properly fit into an O.E outer casing.
