Hi there... new to the group. I wondering if anyone had the same issue i am having with my Galaxy 03 115 1,9tdi.
While sitting in traffic on tick over the revs sometimes raise from 750 to about 1200 with out any input from me. Also when starting up sometimes the rev counter rises to over 2000 revs with out me touching the accelorator, after bout 10 seconds the engine settles down again. This also happens sometimes while driving, i can be driving along at 1500 revs and then the car starts to accelorate on its own and the revs rise.... i think my car may be possesed. lol

If anyone can shed some light on this it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Hello  welcome5

Temperature sensor  can cause an increase in idle speed and cheapy MAF sensors can cause erratic throttle, but before changing anything scan the diagnostic system with Vagcom/VCDS lite first
2016 Vauxhall Insignia Elite Nav in White 2.0CDTI Manual.
2023 VW Transporter T6.1 SE In Silver 2.9TDI 150PS. 7 Speed DSG Wheelchair accessible day vehicle.

With VCDS lite (full version) need a code clearing or want to scan for faults in the north kent area, PM me. All for a pint of Strongbow.

Well thank you Chris B....you must have a crystal ball cos I am due to have the temp sensor changed due to inacurate reading on the dash. The temp guage needle rises and falls rapidly while driving. This would seem to tie together. I have had my Galaxy for about 10 years and these niggly things have just started... Think she needs some TLC . .

Thanks again Chris B  8-)
