Hi,
Can anyone recommend a budget fault code reader that's any good?
I had no luck with VCDS Lite.
Thanks,
Peter Burgess

Hi
what problem you had with the vagcom,   usually its very simple and easy to get connected and most of all   cheap.
www.themarina-bridlington.com
discount for members and an extra sausage !

I bought the Ã,£10 vagcom lead and disc off ebay. I did get it to work after much fiddling but just cannot get it working now. Have just spent Ã,£200 on a Foxwell machine - time will tell if I've done the right thing! reason I bought Foxwell and not the official vagcom is that the Foxwell will do other vehicles. According to the guy at Gendall that sells these machines, the cheapo machines will only show codes if engine light is on whereas the more expensive ones will dig deeper. This has proved to true as I have limp mode but no dash light yet the Foxwell pulled an underboost code. The only thing is, vagcom seems easier to understand for a numpty like me!
