are Galaxy and VW map sensors the same part?

looking to buy a map sensor for my Galaxy 55 plate 130 ASZ engine.  On Ebay, sensors are available for the VW with exactly the same reference numbers as on my part (my sensor 0 281 002 401) (02/05 1A G9) (816) (038 906 051 C).

The VW sensors are around Ã,£20 brand new and sold as Bosch. Also the very same part on Ebay from other sellers for twice that price.

2 questions! - are these Ã,£20 sensors genuine Bosch and do they fit both the Galaxy and VW?

Most of the mechanical parts (as far as the TDI engine and it's ancillaries are concerned) are exactly the same and completely interchangeable between the Sharan, Galaxy and Alhambra, after all VW basically built the vehicle and just slapped Ford logos on it. As long as the part number matches you should have no problems.

As for [eBay], if you know what you're looking for then there are bargains to be had- sellers with old or surplus stock just wanting rid, so the cost can vary considerably from seller to seller. Just be wary though, if it seems too good to be true and all that............ If it's advertised as pukka Bosch and it obviously isn't then getting your money back shouldn't be an issue. Just have a good look and compare your original and replacement sensor when it arrives, cheap knock offs tend to have subtle differences, in this case pay close attention to the plastic moulded body of the sensor and the labeling.
Always learning..... Often by mistakes!

Thank! agree about Ebay being a lottery. In the end I bought from here http://www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/ at a cost of Ã,£30 inc next day delivery. Looking at their website, looks an interesting business.....

well, thats a new MAP sensor fitted :)

car is running better for it - a bit more acceleration now!

the interesting thing about the effects of fitting this part is it smooths out gearchanges when cold. Before fitting, for the first 3 or 4 miles the car was really difficult to drive without jerky gearchanges - the revs never seemed to match the gearchange and now gearchange are seamless and very much smoother. I have read elsewhere about this. My MAP threw no codes and a VAG specialist didnt pick it up when  I put car in for a diagnostic 6 mths ago. I guess its the original map for the car with an 05 batch number on it. Seems it doesnt need to fail badly to affect driving characteristics....

still struggling with air intake roar/ drone/ rasp >:( (worse when hot in stop start traffic)
