Engine oil change problem

My galaxy 2 ltr tdi has problems , constant rpm boost without touching accelerator , and a lot when braking  , have to pull over and restart engine to stop for a short period , garage says it needs engine oil change , only fird can do it seemingly , anyone have similar issues ?

before we can attempt to tackle your problem we need to be sure what vehicle were dealing with as your mark doesn't match your year or profile picture, engine size.

Your mark year, MK1= 1995-2000.  MK2= 2000-2006.  MK3= 2006 to present

Not heard of this issue on a MK3 and certainly wouldn't think changing the oil will have that effect.
Has the car been serviced recently?

My first action would be to have the diagnostics scanned, the fact it resets after a restart would suggest an engine management fault.
Maybe something simple like a faulty temperature sensor.

Might they be referring to the DPF regeneration issue whereby the engine management drastically overfuels the engine in order to raise the exhaust gas temperature to allow regeneration to occur? I've read reports of this being a known and ongoing issue, responsible for diluting the engine oil and causing the level to rise drastically in some cases, not sure if this may be related but if said oil contaminated with diesel vapour is making it's way back into the inlet tract it could be allowing uncontrolled fueling of the engine effectively?

this happenes on a Mazda 5 I had, you had 3 levels on the dip stick , oil min max and a third an inch higher, to allow for over fuelling when dpf cleaning, if the level went beyond the level it went into limp mode to allow you to get to a garage

Good point, if it is DPF regen and it's failed to complete regen I would expect a fault code logged.

Garage done all diagnostic tests , no fault showing , ford say it's an issue with certain engines , I'm not due fuel change for another 2000 miles but say it needs to be done to solve the problem , only ford have a special tool for the engine seemingly

Picked up car from garage to take home , have to take to ford garage fir engine oil change now , see if that solves my problems , my engine has only one valve fir emptying old fluid and computer needs to get reset by ford since they ar the only ones that can do this operation , other garage cleaned throttle body thinking that was problem , but getting worse as I found out driving home , my car is a 2 ltr zetec tdci automatic , hope this doesn't happen to anyone else , so annoying

did you get to change your oil i tried to change my oil couldnt get sump plug off tight as hell and i got same symptoms my oil is high aswell
