When I lock my car the alarm is on but it does not go off when u try to get into car with it still on car is 1.9 dti w reg galaxy HELP

Do you mean the alarm isn't working at all or it's setting when you lock the car but not disarming when you unlock it so when you open the door and get in the alarm goes off?
Always learning..... Often by mistakes!

Yes the  alarm sets but it doesnt go off when u try to get into car if

Are you arming with the remote (which also locks the doors) and then unlocking with the key to open the door and see if the alarm goes off?
Are you aware that locking/unlocking with the key also turns the alarm on and off on both drivers door and boot?  Possibly passenger door as well if it has a lock (mine doesn't).
If you want to try the alarm sit inside and lock with remote.  Sit very still for about a minute if it has ultrasonic detectors as it takes a while to arm.  Then try moving or opening a door from inside.  It should go off then if it is working.
