Hi guys I don't want to sound dumb but I cannot find the location of my reverse switch I have a 2.3zetec with auto box I have had the splash tray removed and battery tray but can't locate the switch any help will be greatly appreciated

That's because there isn't one
Auto transmission reversing lights are switched on by the automatic transmission relay iirc relay number 175

I take it the lights are not working?
Check fuse 5 first if that's OK then I would check the wiring through the gaiter to the tailgate as you may have broken wiring (quite common)
