What's the going rate for a recon auto transmission as have quotes from 900 to 1500 the later including a torque converter. My wife likes the Galaxy auto got 112k miles and just done timing belt and water pump. So any encouragement welcome.

I've had quotes from 950 up to 2k for the 5sp tiptronic in the V6...
Warranty and reputation are important I guess - ie the ability for them to actually him puente warranty if it fails...

Should have added that there are places on eBay advertising same day on these for less than 1k.
I thought that looks a bit suspect but then though how many private taxis are galaxy/Sharans in London? If they are doing loads of them then then work must be good as the taxi forms won't be wasting on cheap rebuilds that break again soon (or would they?)
