washer jets

the washer jets on my 2000 ford galaxy 1.9 tdi ghia pumps water on to the front and rear window at the same time regardless of whether you push or pull the wiper stalk also the pressure is low which I assume is due to it pumping both ways at the same time is this a fault with the pump or could it be a switch or relay

I would say replace the pump there is only one pump for front and rear.
