Aux heater help

Hi all,

My first post here. I bought a 2004 Alhambra PD130 a couple of weeks ago, so far I'm impressed with it and I'm sure its going to serve its purpose well. The issue I have is I feel it takes too long to warm up on these cold mornings. Around 10/15miles to get to 90*

I have a cheap code reader and when I plugged it in I got 5 codes for the aux heater all saying the same thing.

I also got a 6th code for a failure of the aux heater glowplug.

I erased the codes last week and I've re-checked it tonight. The glowplug one is no longer showing but the one pictured is still there.

I've searched about the aux heater and there are so many posts on here and other forums I'm a little confused by it all. Where should I start with my quest to get it working or is it not worth bothering about?

Hello atreyu  [W4] to the neverending saga of the booster heater.
The problem with the later D5Z-F heater it is prone to problems with the control module and can give false info when interrogated.
Having said that the combustion fan motor can stick which puts extra load on the motor which can result in a fault logged.
As your new to the car I would want to strip the heater and check out the motor and glow plug before condemning it.

There's lots of info in our reference library about these heaters also use the search function to bring up more posts on other members experiences with this subject.

Feel free to ask any questions you may have as this is quite a popular subject this time of year.
