Noticed black smoke coming from exhaust when I change gears
Any ideas ?

Hello and  welcome5
Is the servicing up to date on the car? if it is then maybe a faulty airflow sensor (MAF)
2016 Vauxhall Insignia Elite Nav in White 2.0CDTI Manual.
2023 VW Transporter T6.1 SE In Silver 2.9TDI 150PS. 7 Speed DSG Wheelchair accessible day vehicle.

With VCDS lite (full version) need a code clearing or want to scan for faults in the north kent area, PM me. All for a pint of Strongbow.

Also, especially once a car's done a few miles, and even more so if most of them are in town on short trips, frozen  or sticking EGR valves (due to carbon buildup) can cause these kinds of issues and are pretty common, more recent type EGR valves use stepper motors instead of the older vacuum controlled type, once the carbon buildup gets past a certain point the motor isn't powerful enough to overcome the resistance and the valve can freeze.
Always learning..... Often by mistakes!

As above, plus if you have a whistling noise when the engine is running it could be a split in the turbo pipe from the from the turbo to the manifold. This is a common fault with the Mondeo resulting in the same symptoms.
