VW Sharan 1997 wipers stuck

Hi, the problem is as follows:

In Wiper Fast position works fine

In Flick Wiper - holding the lever down for the whole time - works fine. If I just press the lever and let it go, as I would normally do, the wiper goes to 12am position and is stuck there. To get it down I have to press the lever down again.

In Wiper slow gets stuck in 12am position. To get it back I have to press the lever down.

Any ideas what the problem might be?

That sounds like the old seizing wiper mechanism. You give the motor a little more voltage in fast wipe so it can overcome more, likewise if you hold the one-wipe down you actually put it into fast wipe after a second or two. ie, flick the one-wipe and it will do (oddly enough) one wipe, hold it down and it will fast-wipe until you let go.

Here. The setup is slightly different on a Mk1 but the basic procedure is the same.

also there can be this kind of prob..
because of seizing thing..

Just wondering, is there any sense to add grease nipple(s) to the wiper mechanism?

I think you'd struggle to know how much was in their though - its more of a localised application rather then a full on grease party!
