Hi there,

I am looking to buy a new car radio, I have three examples.
My question is if they will fit (size) into my galaxy and do I need any extra cable to connect them ?

Below I have attached current radio picture and current cables.
Current radio - ford 4050 rds eon
Car - Ford Galaxy 1.9 TDI year 2001 , mk2

3 Examples of music players:

2.http://www.halfords.com/sat-nav-audio/car-audio/dab-radios-car-stereos/pioneer-fh-x700bt-double-din-car-cd-player

3.http://www.halfords.com/sat-nav-audio/car-audio/dab-radios-car-stereos/alpine-cde-w235bt-double-din-car-stereo-with-parrot-bluetooth#tab1

Will they fit and is there any  requirement for extra cables, also which radio would be best ?

Regards

None of the ones provided will fit. Standard radio sizes are DIN and Double DIN however Ford didn't want to keep to the standard so the radios fitted to Ford models from around 1997 to 2006 are actually 1.75DIN and obviously, so is the hole.

The easiest options is to get a single DIN radio and a .75 blank. The better option is to replace the surround with one from a Sharan/Alhambra which is a true double DIN radio.

Again, connection wise Ford went generic and away from the industry standard ISO - fortunately there are lots of cheap adaptors to convert Ford wiring to ISO and nearly all modern aftermarket radios are ISO.

thanks!

I decided to go for singe DIN radio, will they fit at all ? with that fascia ?

U can fit any din1 units with that facia... BUT ,be sure that you have that 1,75din hole in your dash.. because I measured mounting hole in my gal and that was 2din size..?
1 DIN = 5cm = 2" , 2 DIN = 10cm = 4"

It'll be double din only if you have/had the factory navigation.
