no clutch pedal movement

drove car tonight
freezing cold scraped ice
off windscreen.
depressed clutch pedal
very little movement on clutch
managed to drive on engine revs
and could only start up in gear
got home OK
does this sound like slave cylinder collapsed
or more serious problem?
should this be covered on extra warranty cover?

The seals in the clutch master cylinder could also have gone, worth checking around the pedal box area for brake fluid leaking, or a failed pipe or union popped off, slave cylinder would be the worst outcome because it's gearbox out to replace! Is the fluid level in the main brake fluid reservoir ok? Is the pedal dropping much lower to the floor before you get any resistance?

just tried again this morning
clutch pedal was staying down
when I pulled it up to top position again
manually the clutch appears to work ok again.
I will check out levels etc this morning
and let you know.
Who put a clutch reservoir in such an inaccessible

Sounds very like the symptoms I had when my slave cylinder went west.  Hope it's not because taking the gearbox out is heavy work - it weighs over 100kg!

 air in system or leak?      I just fitted some sachs products between engine and  gearbox  and got same symptons like you, because there was air in new slave cyl.

indeed 

if you need change that slave cyl , then u can check other clutch parts too and also  oil leaks in cranksaft and gearbox.
My way is take whole power unit away from there, then u can change/repair anything u want, like I did..
