Windscreen washer not working

Galaxy 2010 washer has stopped working front and back, can't hear any sound from pump.  Checked fuse 14 in central fuse box this is ok.
Removed n/side headlight but access is......
Can pump be accessed by removing fog lamp or does bumper need to come off, this I do not know how to do.

Any advice welcome

Howdy!

I'm not 100% sure where/which side the washer bottle lives on the Mk3 Galaxy but usually the motor can be accessed by partially removing/dropping the wheelarch liner (this doesn't normally require the wheel to be removed) on the relevant side, the wheelarch liners are usually held on with either T25 or 30 torx head screws.

The washer pump is behind the N/S fog/side lamp so you need to remove the lamp.
You will either have one or two screws (8mm socket) to remove from directly below the bumper, up to 2010 has two screws and 2010 on has one.
The lamps there self can be quite tricky to remove as there are two plastic lugs to release.

Was unable to access washer pump via fog light removal.  But after checking a photo of the tank from an Ebay parts advert it indicates that the pump is located at the front of the tank between the nearside front fog light and lower cooling grill.
removal of pump is from underneath the car, which is better raised for better access.  (please consider safety, this car is "HEAVEY")
The next step is to remove the plastic underbelly tray mounted under the front section of the engine.

1) Using an 10mm socket, remove the 3 bolts around the mid of the tray.
2) Using an 8mm socket, remove the 3 bolts that retain the tray just in front of wheel-arch both sides of the car (6 in total)
3) Use a large flat blade screwdriver to prize open the lugs at front of tray.
The tray should now be removed.
The pump can be pulled from the tank as it is only retained with a rubber grommet, disconnect the power socket and pull off the 2 pipes from the pump.  I put a tie-wrap around the pipe that connected to the white fitting to ensure I did not cause a crossover.
A thin smear of washing up liquid will help get the pipes onto the new pump.
Putting the tray back was a bit of a challenge, you must locate the front lugs first then lift the rear into place.
From a wiring diagram from a Mondeo, it looks like the pump turns one way from front screen and by reversing the polarity spins in opposite direction for rear screen.

Just one comment/advice.

I did all of this about a week ago. Also removed the fog light (even though I didn't need to).

Refitted everything and a couple of days later the front washer wasn't working. Managed to get a view of the pump through the front grill (without dismantling again) and notice that the rubber pipe (for front washer) had come off the pump.

When first dismantling I noticed that a cable tie had been put around this pipe (which I had to cut off). I thought it was there to identify between the two pipes. Now I think it was there to hold it on due to the pump pressure pushing the pipe off.

Will now have to re-do the whole job to get the pipe back on and this time will put on cable ties to both pipes to keep them on the pump. Suggest others do the same.

Would be great if I could just remove the front grill (will allow access to the pump with all the other dismantling).
