Hello, my parking brake light is always on, i have checked the fluid level etc but it's just not going away. My guess is that the sensor/switch is dead but i cannot find the sensor. Maybe someone can explain it to me where can i find it on my car (mk1)?

The sensor is in the cap of the reservoir and should be fairly obvious! Are you sure you are checking the right reservoir?

It may be the handbrake switch that is causing the light to stay on as this light doubles as a handbrake warning and low fluid warning.
The switch is located next to the handbrake lever which will require removing the centre consul (if fitted) or the plastic trim around the lever.
