Hissing sound from Dash. Help needed Plz

Hello Everyone

I'm New to this forum and I could do with your Help.

I'm hearing Hissing sound coming from top of dash on the right hand side (driverside). To me it sounds like Air being forced out from somewhere only happens when I  accelerate low or high revs.

I tried to listen from engine bay but can't really hear anything due to engine noise only can hear from inside of car. At times it sound like one of those air pressure release valves that boy races add to there cars but mine coming from the dash.

Anyone out there knows what the fault is please.

I have a simarlar noise altho not as much coming from the dash I think it sounds like the noise from the turbo

Sounds very much like you have a boost leak. The turbo is on the back of the engine so sound wlil be muffled from the front and more noticeable inside. Get someone to hold the revs at about 2K and you should be able to feel about the pipework for any leaks but take extreme caution as a) some bits will be hot and b) some bits will be moving (ie belts!)

Thanks  I can hear it from engine bay now didn't want to take air box out to try to trace where the leak was. So I have left car with Ford (Sutton Coldfield) that way hopefully  they can pin point where the fault is. Charging Ã,£39 half an hour to investigate and depending of cost I will let them fix or I will fix my self (diy). Just need them to found out what and where the fault is.

Most like the intercooler inlet pipe, seems to be becoming a fairly common fail point on the 115's as they age.

Got my car back from ford the Induction pipe is missing which they think is cause of the hissing sound.

On Saturday I got my car back from Solus repair centre they repaired my car after a accident and some how the Induction pipe went missing. I talked to Solus and arranged with them to have my car picked up for them to replace part. Ford charged me Ã,£78 to investigate fault I will be sending them a copy of invoice for refund for their mistake.

Humm, did they give you any further info other then "induction pipe" ? I would guess they mean the intake pipe from the airbox to the turbo which is a fairly big pipe to forget to refit - its also after the air filter which isn't exactly good unless they mean the CCV breather pipe?

Got my car back from repair centre they replaced the induction pipe. But I still can hear a faint hissing sound but not as loud as before.
I decided to take air box off to trace problem myself on doing this i found that the pipe between the Air box and the Air flow sensor was cracked forcing air in bypassing the Air filter so I sealed it myself problem fully solved now Well happy now also getting full refund(ford bill)
