Greetings all! Just wondering if anybody has any feedback regarding cost/satisfaction/experience regarding fitting a stainless exhaust on a Mk2? My TDI is going to need replacement from the cat back fairly soon (  ;) Mark- I see your profile lists yours as having a long life stainless exhaust- is that as in the brand 'Longlife'? Was it expensive?)

cheers

Ahh I too needed to replace from the cat back and was amazed to find it was cheaper then replacing the exhaust with a standard one. IIRC I paid somewhere in the region of Ã,£350 fitted including new cat.

I went for a basic "like for like" replacement although you could opt for fast flowing cat's and pipes etc I didn't see the need. I also wanted the sound to remain the same so from my point of view nothing changed, same sounds and volume - all very dull ;)

I had mine done at the Amesbury branch and they did a good job, I'm actually going to have Stephs EOS done there next month.

Thanks for that Mark, it looks like I've got a 'Longlife' distributor not too far away from me so I might contact them for a price, I think my Cat's ok at the mo so I may get away with just a centre/rear system, like you I'm not bothered about getting anything more noisy or free flowing, just something good quality! I've fitted cheap exhausts to cars before and from experience they're often fairly naff, e.g, they don't line up with the mounts etc etc!

I don't think my cat back recent 2 exhaust sections cost anywhere near Ã,£200 never mind Ã,£350???
Diesel exhausts last for years anyways. Long life have to make each system on your car so better for classic cars etc where others arnt available.
