respraying my bumper

ok so as the title states, i need to respray part of my bumper where someone has lightly hit me while parked. could someone please tell me the best way to do this step by step. Also where on earth do i find the colour code for my specific car?

iirc the colour code is on the drivers door column?
as for info on spraying,google is your friend.

No the paint code is on the VIN plate to the left of the wiper mechanism, check the ref library for location and code colours.

Painting wise, its all in the prep. Sand it all down, clean it all up and then slow and steady build up primer, paint and lacquer. How bad is it? Hundreds of bumpers on ebay and some in good condition

Ok thank you mirez. It's not that bad mate. I have attatched the VIN plate to the right of the wiper mechanism. Is that correct? Also could you add a link to the ref library where I need to be looking please. Many thanks

Mine claims that the colour code is GD= Kenzo - Anthracite

Is this actually a colour?

What you've actually quoted there are interior trim codes for pattern & colour. Looking at the VIN plate information article it appears the paint code (number 10 on the diagram) should be in the box immediately below the box where you got the GD interior trim codes from (which should have been number 11).

According to the list a paint code starting with 2 is 'satin silver'. Does that sound about right?

If you want to make sure you can try putting your VIN number (the long 17 digit number starting with WF0GXX*****) into Ford's ETIS, this should tell you the paint colour along with a load of other info, though don't bother doing it at this precise moment as ETIS seems to be throwing a wobbly......  ::)

hahaha well strangely enough the FordEtis website was wrong lol.
it says among other details that the car has Oyster Silver (Metallic) paint. so now i have 2 different colours that i have found so i called my local ford parts dealer and they have confirmed that my car left the factory in Satin silver.
