Hesitation when pulling away from cold

I've noticed in the last few days that when pulling away from cold my MK2 diesel has a slight hesitation - it soon clears but this is a new one on me. Any ideas?

When you say pulling away I assume you mean from idle so the revs are too low for it to be a boost related/turbo issue, and if it's only from cold it's unlikely to be throttle position sensor related. Has it logged any fault codes? I'm just wondering if it could have something to do with an incorrect coolant temperature sensor reading messing up the fueling, or an EGR valve starting to stick or something like that.
Always learning..... Often by mistakes!

Sorry for the delay in answering. I don't know if it might be egr - I have just done a 300 mile trip and all went well. Temp sensor could be a possible - I'll check that out. But first a try with VCDS.

Did you get that fixed?
I drive a Seat Alhambra 1.9Tdi which has 115bhp and an automatic gearbox.

I am happy to help you with all your questions. I am not a qualified mechanic but seem to be better at fixing my car than even the most experienced garages.

I have lots of friends here and very much enjoy talking with you all. Always remember, a motor car is a serious tool and should be treated with respect. Put your safety first, always.
