passenger seat airbag and Crash Sensor

Hi all, having an airbag nightmare! Need help to get car through MOT.

Hit the curb at high speed to avoid and accident and set off my passenger seat airbag. I have replaced the Airbag in the original set and then the all set with another seat and airbag. Also the 6Q0 909 606 airbag sensor under the passenger set with a used sensor. All to no avail as I still cannot clear the error

Am I missing something here? Is there another sensor other than the one under the set?
 
As anyone had the same problem and fixed their car.

All wiring and connectors look good.

Did you read that fault code yourself or did somebody else do it for you? I presume you attempted to clear the code and it came back and put the airbag light back on once you'd completed the work on the airbag system?

I'm not that familiar with the airbag system and settings on the Mk2 Galaxy but from the description of that fault code it may be that once an airbag has been deployed and the crash sensor triggered, the new crash sensor/ components may require initialisation with the control module before the system will work properly. If it was a used crash sensor you fitted, it may be that the vehicle it came out of had a slightly different setup to your vehicle (e.g, they didn't all have curtain airbags IIRC) and isn't calibrated correctly. Has the replacement crash sensor got the same part number as the old one?

I doubt you needed to replace the crash sensor but the 01222 code indicates the control module isn't able to talk properly to it. This will almost certainly be a compatability issue rather then a wiring issue so double check the part numbers (including the suffix) marry up correctly, if it does then the "used" sensor is faulty.
