still trying to check door wires in passenger front door, lock ring still join round and round, need to hold it from behind, i have partly pulled down the trim panel to the left of your feet if sat in passenger seat but still can't get hand through to back of plug to hold it, does anyone know if there is a bigger access hole that is further up,  it looks like the glovebox may need removing to access it if there is,  there doesn't seem to be a   how to do this job on the faqs    or does the smaller trim panel just pull right down and out ,  at moment i can just move it outwards but have not tried to fully remove it.

Easiest option is to remove the kick plate (the long plastic trim that runs along the bottom of the door opening) - two screws at the footwell end, prise up the rubber seal around the door and then pull it up.

You can then drop the felt piece down and have lots of room to get a hand up, its really not that bad on the passenger side and something I was doing just last week ;)

thought id done that !   the part of the footwell end where the 2 screws are  thats the bit I'm having trouble with,  its attached to the rest of the long trim, when the screws are out  does it just pull downwards   it seems to go up at the side of the glovebox  so i didn't want to yank it down incase i couldn't get it back, does this then reveal a bigger hand hole   as  i sure can't feel one !

TBH, I'm not 100% as I wasn't aiming for the back of that connector but when I have done in the past I've always removed that piece of trim.

Undo the two screws, prise up the door weather seal (its simply pushed on but will be tight) and then the trim piece pulls up (its held on 4 clips along the way but they are the alligator teeth style and designed to pull away)

You can defo feel the drivers side (once the trim is off) as that's the one I was referring to

the trim is the bit I'm struggling with    still ! it says pull upwards and away,   i can't pull it up as it goes up behind the glovebox,   does it just pull downwards , it seems to go a long way up so i am worried about getting out back !

No your pulling up at the wrong end, once you have removed the two screws and pulled off the lower edge of the weather seal you should be pulling the trim up from the side of the seat at the central door pillar

bit like a carry on film this  ;D     yes i gather the trim comes upwards at the side of the seat     but does it just pull downwards at the footwell trim end     thats the part I'm fighting with ! it seems to go up the side of the glovebox so i didn't want to yank it down if i couldn't get it back up

Ohh I see, you can just pull it down (its amazingly springy plastic and will bend quite easily) but the easiest way it to detach the end closest to the B pillar and then lift that end up to rotate the other end down... if that makes sense!
