factory sat nav unit

would anyone know if this unit takes postcode entries ?  can't seem to fathom if it does, sure not as easy as my old tom-tom to program.

It depends on the map disc you're using, earlier ones didn't support it. Then it became first 4 digits only and then the later maps did full postcode searches...

ok  thanks Mirez,  i presume its the original disc from 54 reg car  so 10 year old maps,  there seems to be some on ebay but how do i know which model sat nav i have in ?

The unit installed in the Galaxy is a rebranded VW MFD1 using mapping info provided by Teleatlas - You need the Blaupunkt DX CD system.

thanks for that,  they want 129 euro for 2013 -14  and 79 euro for 12 -13 , theres a chap in poland selling 2012 -13 for Ã,£39 seems a good deal if anyone interested.
